One of the greatest needs in the church today is access to those leading their ministries. Don’t believe it? Ask a small group of people you are ministering too if they wish they could spend time with you.
The problem is that as any ministry expands beyond 20 or 30 people having time to sit down with everyone on a regular basis is not possible. They still want to know what is going on in your life. This is where a blog steps in.
As we noted there are two main topics to cover in a blog here at insights for church; Personal and Biblical. Our hope is that you would do both.
Personal Entries
These entries focus on your personal struggles and victories. Talk about how God showed you more of who he is in your day to day life. What are the funny stories you would share with someone over coffee or out to lunch. By writing about them you can expand your audience to your whole church and beyond.
While you can write abstractly, anything written in the first person from your point of view will have a huge effect on your audience. Talk about something funny your daughter said, or post pictures from a family trip you just got back from. Your blog is an opportunity to invite them into your life again after they leave the church doors for the week.
Biblical Entries
It would be remiss of us to not write about God. After All the reason people listen to us in the first place is because of our devotion to God. There are two main ways to go about writing biblical entries.
